After Sam falls upon a plot to embezzle a large sum of money, Carl, Sam and Molly's friend, has Sam killed. Sam refuses to cross over and begins a long journey that leads eventually leads to Carl's own death and the final kiss between Sam and Molly before Sam finally crosses over into the next life.
