Sesame Street Live is a live touring show which officially opened on September 17th 1980. The live show is based on the hit children's television show Sesame Street. The first ever production took pay at the Met Center in Bloomington, Minnesota. Sesame Street Live now goes on three to four separate tours. Each tour performs a different show. Each show has a different plot, characters, scenery, and soundtrack. Sesame Streets Lives performs in arenas and theatres in all parts of the world. Each tour usually lasts eight to ten months. They usually end in spring and start again in late summer. When touring in the United States the groups is a bus and truck show meaning their equipment is packed up and moved using two or three trucks like personnel travels from location to location by bus.

Sesame Street Live has toured to countries all around the world including the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, the Netherlands, Germany, Mexico, England, Japan, and many more countries. The first live act performed was the Missing Bird Mystery act.
