The Cirque Du Soleil Love opening on June 30 was a success with McCartney, Starr, Ono, Cynthia Lennon, Julian Lennon, Olivia Harrison, Dhani Harrison and Sir George Martin in attendance. It was the largest reunion of the actual "family" since the band broke up. At the end McCartney asked for a cheer for John and George from the crowd after he and Ringo, Olivia, Yoko Ono, and Martin walked on the stage. They certainly got a cheer!
In 2007, Cirque Du Soleil Love, which celebrates the music of The Beatles,had its one year anniversary. CNN's Larry King interviewed McCartney, Starr, Ono and Olivia. They also unveiled a plague in the memory of John Lennon and George Harrison.
The story basically traces the biography of the Beatles. It goes from their founding all the way through their stardom. The finale is a celebration of the reunion of the Beatles'.
The music during the Cirque Du Soleil Love production is a pre-recorded material from The Beatles' catalog. There is a cast of 65 people. Along with the music there is dance, acrobatics, visual, and theatrical effects. There is a sampling of 130 song creating the 27 musical pieces during the show. The songs are then blended to make one song flow into the next. There are two translucent screens that people can see throughout Cirque Du Soleil Love. The images on the walls about the crowd shows elements throughout the show and provides transitions between sections with the use of high-definition projectors.
The theater Cirque Du Soleil Love shows in is called the Love theater and it's at The Mirage in Las Vegas whilch houses 2,013 seats sitting around a stage. There are 6,341 speakers as well as nine lifts and eight automated trolleys and tracks. This theater replaced the Siegfried & Roy theater and it cost over $100 million.
The soundtrack to Cirque Du Soleil Love received two Grammy awards. Ringo Starr, Sir George Martin, and Giles Martin accepted the awards. |
