Almost any child will remember the wonder and amazement they felt when they first say The Wizard of Oz. Whether it was the original in black and white or the color edition, the feeling and ecstasy induced by the gem has always been the same. Little do people know however, that the storyline and world introduced to you in The Wizard of Oz has been continued and expanded upon by the Broadway musical and best selling book, both entitled, Wicked.

Wicked chronicles the life and happening regarding the wicked witch of the West. Having broken theater records around the world, it’s already apparent that the production will enjoy a long and successful life. Whether it will ever truly achieve the statue that its predecessor did is uncertain. It will however for the time being, become one of the most sought after shows to attend.

Much like The Wizard of Oz, Wicked contains an incredibly whimsical set, depicting Oz, which is blotched with red, blues, greens and purples. The music that accompanies the acting only furthers the feeling that you yourself are in Oz, when in reality you’re stationed quite comfortably in the seats in the theater.

While many of the characters make a return appearance, they are not all that they seem. In what may be a shocking revelation for long time fans of the original story, many surprises are in store regarding the true happenings of Oz and who the characters truly are.
