The Tony award winning musical Avenue Q is back to please the thousands that saw it on its original run. The Broadway musical based largely on the Sesame Street has made a return appearance after its original run garnered so much praise that the creators felt the need to offer it to the public once more.

The musical is comprised completely of puppets, much like Sesame Street. The musical is absolutely hilarious and even more so for any fans of the original Sesame Street. Avenue Q is as much a satire of the Sesame Street as it is a musical. The songs are oftentimes catchy and fun to sing along with and oftentimes they’ll make you laugh so hard you’ll cry. The characters are all a spin on different Sesame Street characters such as a gay Bert parody.

Unlike its source material Avenue Q is not meant for children, instead it contains a lot of adult humor and in many ways it makes it unique and fun because it turns out to be a Sesame Street for adults. The original run in the US and Canada was widely accepted and praised. Now the original show returns for an international tour in 2008. A few of its outstanding awards are a Tony for best musical, Tony for best book of a musical and a Tony for best original score. When it’s all said and done it’s one of the most refreshing experiences to undergo as an adult.
