The original Orange Bowl games from 1935 to 1937 were played at the Miami Field, the same location where the Miami Orange Bowl was built. The game was however moved to the Dolphin Stadium since December 1996 and was moved back to the Miami Orange Bowl as the game coincided with the NFL Wild Card Playoff game.
The Orange Bowl used to be a game between the Big Eight Conference champions. However, the system has been changed since 1998 and the contending teams are selected from the three BCS Bowls namely Rose, Sugar and Fiesta Bowls. Orange Bowl featured the ACC Champion since the 2006 season. The Orange Bowl games will be aired live on Fox just like the January 2008 game between University of Kansas and Virginia Tech.
