New Jersey Nets Tickets Information |
The New Jersey Nets was one of the 11 original teams that made up the American Basketball Association. Owner Arthur Brown originally wanted the team to play in New City but he failed to secure a city arena. Led by Julius Erving, they won two championships in the nine-year history of that league. Known as “Dr. J”, Erving boosted the team's popularity and improved its play. The Nets recorded a 55–29 regular season mark in 1973–74 and claimed the ABA title. Erving topped the league in scoring with 27.4 points per game and won the league's most valuable player (MVP) award. In 1964 he sold the Nets to businessman Roy Boe.
The Nets is one of the seven teams in the NBA's Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. The red-, blue-, and white-colored jerseys play at Continental Airlines Arena in Easter Rutherford, New Jersey.
The Nets have always made it to the playoffs every year after they made it to the NBA finals in 2002 and 2003 making them one of the favorite teams in the Eastern Conference. In the 2006–07 season, the Nets finished second place in the Atlantic Division that made their way to the conference semi-finals despite injuries acquired by their star players, Nenad Krstic and Richard Jefferson. Jason Kidd and Vince Carter did not disappoint the Nets fans last season. Do they have what it takes to dethrone the Miami Heat this season?
