Hailing from Oakland, California, the Golden State Warriors are as fearsome on the court, as their name leads one to believe. One of the older teams in the NBA, the Golden State Warriors have two championships under their belt, and they’re always looking for another. A considerable amount of division and conference titles dot their history, but it’s the 1956 and 1975 championships which burns bright in the minds of the Warrior’s minds, and that of their fans.

Originally the Philadelphia Warriors, the team was eventually moved and renamed in 1974, when they officially became the Golden State Warriors, previously being the San Francisco Warriors. And it was that magical year where the Warriors won their second NBA championship, where they participated in one of the biggest NBA upsets in history, sweeping a 4 game match against the heavily favored Washington Bullets. After smashing Washington fan’s dreams for glory that year, the Warrior’s quickly began training for next year, and while they haven’t yet attained another NBA championship title, they have picked up other big wins. Conference and division titles were spread throughout the sixties and seventies, it was truly the Warrior’s golden years. While the Warrior’s dynasty of the past has since end, the team is working hard to re-establish the phenomena that was the Golden State Warriors of the seventies.
