Weird Al Yankovic or Alfred Matthew in real life, started playing the accordion when he was seven years old but his interest was caught and ultimately became a fan of comedy shows and performers like the Dr. Demento Show and Spike Jones. He owes his career to Demento when the latter played a demo tape of Beldevere Cruising, a pop song about a Plymouth composed by Yankovic. He submitted the tape to Demento who played it three years after it was submitted to him by Weird Al. Yankovic has recorded over 150 songs (both parody and original), sold over 12 million albums and performed in over a thousand live shows during his entire career. He has nine Grammy Award nomination and three Grammy Awards tucked under his belt. After almost three decades in the music industry, he finally had an album and a single in Billboard's Top Ten List in 2006.
