The members, Alex Trimble, Sam Halliday and Kevin Baird all met in Grammar school. The name of the band developed as a pun of the name of a local cinemahouse, Tudor Cinema. They official became a band in 2007, and began posting their music on Myspace. Because of so much positive response they generated on their pages, they decided to produce their studio material. Their first EP, "Four Words to Stand On," was released in 2009. It was consequently met with general approval. As more and more people started talking and writing about them, they became increasingly popular. They are releasing their first studio in 2010, and are promoting their album with a series of concert tours.
Two Door Cinema Club combines electro-pop music and indie rock and turns it into a music uniquely their own, a charming romp in jumpy, catchy and playful tunes combined with soft, unassuming vocals. They have been compared to acts such as The Killers, but quite frankly they simply have a music of their own.
