Train already have five albums with the first self-titled album released on February, 1998.The song Free saw significant airtime and was a popular title in mainstream rock radio. Another song from the album, Meet Virginia, was a hit in contemporary adult radio and soon made it to the Top 20. Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me) was a single that hit the airwaves before their second album was released. This song won the Grammys in 2002 for Best Rock Song and Best Arrangement. Their second album, Drops of Jupiter went multiplatinum. With this achievement, Train established itself as one of the top names in rock music.
Patrick Monahan writes the songs for the band. He is also a solo performer with his album Last of Seven. He is from Erie, Pennsylvania and currently resides in Seattle. Scott Underwood is from Saratoga Springs, New York. Jimmy Stafford was born in Morris, Illinois but currently resides in Las Vegas and Chicago.
