Toby Mac is a very popular and successful Christian hip hop artist who was born on October 22, 1964 in Fairfax, Virginia. Toby was born as Kevin Michael "Toby" McKeehan. He legally changed his name to Toby in the 1990s. He is now commonly known as Toby Mac. Toby is a professional musician, producer, and songwriter. Toby is known as one of the member of the very popular Christian group known as dc Talk. He joined the band in 1989 but left whenever the band split up in 2000. Toby was raised in Annandale, Virginia. He went to Pine Ridge Elementary school which had less than three hundred students during the time Toby attended the school. He then went on to attend Luther Jackson. He mentioned both schools in his song "Extreme Days". He also attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. He met Kevin Max and Michael Tait while attending the University.
Toby Mac released his debut studio album, Momentum, in 2001. The album went gold. His next album, Welcome to Diverse City, was released in 2004. The album also went gold. His most recent album Portable Sounds, was released in 2007. Toby Mac is expected to release a number album sometime in 2009.
