This Academy of Country Music's 2003 Entertainer of the Year used to be a semi-pro football player. Toby Keith decided to take on his guitar, which he had been playing since he is eight, after the defensive end for the Oklahoma Outlaws. As the saying goes, the rest is history — and Keith is now giving you the Big Dog Daddy Tour.
Born in Clinton, Oklahoma in 1961, Toby Keith Corvel played football and worked in the oil fields. When the USFL went under and employment at the wells was difficult, he turned his back and went on traveling the nightclub circuit with the Easy Money Band. His songs is reflective of his lifestyle in which he grew to manhood and his lyrics is reflective of his strong family values, hard work, and his country the USA.
In the 90s, he swoop the hard-to-impress town of Nashville when he became a favorite solo performer. In 1993, his self-titled debut album Toby Keith featured an amazing four #1 hits on the country charts: “Should've Been A Cowboy”, “Wish I Didn't Know Now”, “He Ain't Worth Missing”, and “A Little Less Talk & A Lot More Action”. The album went double platinum, and Billboard Magazine declared him Top New Country Artist. Toby Keith released ten albums over the next decade. In 1997, Dream Walkin' was featured a Grammy-nominated duet with Sting. In 1999, the “How Do You Like Me Now?” song earned a CMT Male Video Artist of the Year award, and the video itself was voted #1.
