Tech N9ne is the stage name of Kansas City, Missouri based rapper of 24 years, Aaron Dontes Yates. He started out not as a solo artist but as someone who belonged to a group of rappers. Some of the groups he belonged earlier include NNUT HOWZE, 57th Street Rogue Dog Villains, and The Regime. In 1999, he finally released his first album as a sole rapper and this was entitled "The Calm before the Storm". He has recorded a total of ten albums the latest of which was released on October, 2009 and is titled "K.O.D.". |

Aside from being a performer, Tech N9ne is the co-owner along with Travis O'Guin of the Strange Music record label. His music is a track for several video games including 25 to Life, Madden NFL 2006, and Midnight Club: Los Angeles. Some of his music appears in movies like Gang Related, Alpha Dog, and Everready: The Religion. Television shows utilize Tech N9ne's tracks as well and these shows include Dark Angel, the MTV program I'm From Rolling Stone. MMA fighter Gilbert Melendez entered the ring with Tech N9ne's music "The Beast". Tech N9ne is also a concert promoter of some sorts and he spearheaded the Tech N9ne Everready Tour. Touring seems to be one of Tech N9ne's strengths as he already has more than 400 live shows.
