Steve Harvey, the American actor, comedian, entertainer, and radio personality, was born in Welch, West Virginia on January 17, 1957. Steve moved to Cleveland, Ohio later. He graduated from Glenville High School in 1974. Throughout his life, Steve has held many jobs including an insurance salesman and a boxer. He began his stand up comedy career in the mid 1980s. In 1989, he was a finalist in Second Annual Johnnie Walker National Comedy Search. Soon after he became the long term host of the It's Showtime at the Apollo show. His stand up comedian success eventually led him to getting his own television show, The Steve Harvey Show. The show ran from 1996 to 2002. The Steve Harvey Show won several NAACP Image Awards.
In 1997, Steve joined Cedric the Entertainer, D.L. Hughely and Bernie Mac and went on tour as the Kings of Comedy. Later they worked with Spike Lee and created the film The Original Kings of Comedy. The film increased Steve Harvey's popular even more. Steve has released a R and B audio CD and even wrote a book.
