Beginning his largely successful career in 1962, Rod Stewart claims much of his influence is due to the singer Al Johnson. He claims that early on in his life he would listen to all of his records and read books regarding the man. From these early experiences and exposure to music through Johnson, Stewart modeled much of his own music that can be heard on his 1968 album named "Truth". Being the youngest of five children didn't seem to affect Stewart at all, and he went on to make a name for himself through a series of highly successful blues and pop rock albums.
A unique voice made his material quickly recognizable, and fans soon flocked to him no matter what band he played and toured with. After a long career he's still chugging away and has a list of awards that would make any musician jealous, all of which culminates with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Currently he plays as a solo artist and tours, playing material that's somewhat experimental to him. Expanding into country and folk rock is all new territory, but it's the territory his fans are excited to hear during his latest tour.
