Ringo Starr is one of the prime examples that proves a great musician will remain great, whether or not they are playing with their band or not. The unfortunate end of the Beatles left Ringo Starr with a tough decision, does he let his career die, or does he continue on and revolutionize his musical career. Luckily for fans Ringo chose the second option, and since 1970 has worked independently on his own musical endeavors.
Ringo Starr's first solo album hit shelves around the world on March 27 in 1970 and was entitled 'Sentimental Journey'. The album was radically different from what fans heard during the Beatle's era. The album took many by surprise due to the fact it was a cover album, something that many found surprising due to Ringo Starr's vast musical background. Many discovered that the album wasn't simply about playing other people's songs; it was a demonstration on how each song takes on a life of its own depending on who plays it. Ringo went on to release many other albums and has currently released 'Liverpool 8' from which he draws material for his next tour.
The Beatle turned solo musician has surprised us in the past, and if his new album or tour is any indication of what's to come, he has many surprises left.
