REO Speedwagon is a very popular and legendary American Rock band that was formed in 1967. The band claimed much of their success and popular during the 1970s and early 1980s. The group’s power ballads “Keep On Loving You” and “Can’t Fight This Feeling” found a home on top of the United States charts. The bands most successful album to date is Hi Infidelity. After members coming and going throughout the years the current band members include Dave Amato, Kevin Cronin, Neal Doughty, Bruce Hall, and Bryan Hitt.
A group of students attending the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois formed the band in 1967. Their early performances almost always involved playing covers songs at local campus bars. REO Speedwagon is the band’s first debut album. It was released on Epic Records in 1971. Most people remember the song “157 Riverside Avenue” which was the most popular on the album. The band’s mainstream success came in 1980 when they released Hi Infidelity. To dates the band has released fifteen studio albums and five live albums. The band’s songs are features on television and major motion pictures, including the 1985 movie, The Goonies.
