Paul Anka enjoyed early success as a teen star by recording his first single ‘I Confess’ at the tender age of fourteen. Before this he sang with church choir which fostered many of his vocal talents. What many don’t know about Paul Anka however, is that he is the mastermind behind many of the world’s favorite songs. It’s true that he wrote the lyrics to many famous songs such as Buddy Holly’s monstrous hit ‘It Doesn’t Matter Anymore’.
In addition to providing Buddy Holly with one of his biggest hits, he is also responsible for the lyrics to Frank Sinatra’s song ‘My Way’. So what’s there left for such a musically inclined person like Paul Anka to do? Produce more music of course! It’s his passion and while his career was subdued during America’s affair with British musicians, he’s currently enjoying a revival and has even released another album entitled ‘Rock Swings’. A member of Canada’s Music Hall of Fame, a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame, it’s hard to say that Paul Anka hasn’t truly done it all.
While his genre of music might not be the most popular, Paul Anka has quite a legion of followers, both directly and indirectly through the people to whom he’s contributed to.
