The Los Tigres Del Notre is a very popular norteno band based out of Rosa Morada, Sinaloa, Mexico. The group was created by Jorge Hernandez along with his brothers and his cousins. The group moved to San Jose, California in the late 1960s. It was around this time that the teen members of the band began recording music. At the time the group was sponsored by a local record company known as Discos Fama which was owned by an Englishman, Art Walker. Art cook the group under his wing and held them locate jobs as well as material. He also helped them record their first few albums. The group was only very popular locally but thanks to Art Walker the group was able to become popular nationally. The group became extremely well known thanks to their song about a couple of drug runners, Emilio Vaerla and Camelia la Texana. The song was released in the early 1970s.
Current members of the band include Jorge Hernandez, Hernan Hernandez, Eduardo Hernandez, Luis Hernandez, and Oscar Lara. Lara plays the drums for the band. Luiz plays the bajo sexto and sings backing vocals. Eduardo plays the accordion and saxophone. Hernan plays the electric bass.
