Born in San Fernando Valley near Los Angeles, Lopez grew up not knowing who his real father was. A lot of comedians have tried to imitate his style of comedy, which Lopez found very flattering. However, no one has become successful yet considering that Lopez' style of comedy infuses his own life experiences to make people laugh. He already recorded four albums of stand-up comedy shows including Right Now Right Now and Team Leader. His soaring career led him to a television show, the George Lopez Show on ABC. His medical health never stopped him from pursuing his love. He went under the knife for a kidney transplant but he continued touring to satisfy his growing number of followers.
In 2004, his live comedy concert “Why You Crying?” first appeared on Showtime during the Memorial Day weekend. It was a hilarious show that audience, including the thousands of TV viewers could not stop laughing so hard they cried. His gift of bringing joy to people is encapsulated in his series of comedy CD allowing his millions of fans around the world to enjoy his antics all year round. In 2004, he released “Team Leader”, which was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album.
