City and Colour consist of Dallas Green, Spencer Burton and Daniel Tavis Romano. Dallas Green also plays rhythm guitar and sings for the Canadian post hardcore ban Alexsionfire. City and Colour is actually an acoustic side project for the ultra talented Green. Green started written music at a tender age of only fourteen. He his released his debut alum, Sometimes, on November 1st 2005. He released many songs on the internet leading up to the release of the album in its entirety.
Green’s second album titled Bring Me Your Love was released in February of 2008. The album features many different instruments and was heavily influenced by folk music. A couple other talented artists are features on the album including the Canadian musician Gordon Downie. The album is commonly compared to the Harvest album released by legend Neil Young. The group was named artist of the year in 2006 by Chart Magazine. City and Colour won the Alternative Album of the Year Award in 2007 from Juno Awards for the album Sometimes. If you are going to be in the Fort Calgary area you should see the show. Be sure to get your City and Colour tickets or maybe a two day pass for the Virgin Festival.
