Chris Botti was born on October 12th 1962 in Portland, Oregon. Botti was raised in Corvallis, Oregon and lived two years in Italy. He got much of his musical influence from his mother who was a classically trained pianist and part time piano teacher. Chris Botti's career has span over the years. He has released ten solo albums so far. His first few albums stuck to the smooth jazz genre. He released his first album in 1999. Slowing Down the World was Botti's debut album. More recently released alums are more traditional jazz than smooth jazz.
Throughout the years, Botti has performed and recorded with numerous artists including Sting, Frank Sinatra, Steven Tyler, Rod Stewart, and Clark Terry. Chris Botti has had many acts including opening up for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Chris Botti released his newest album, Italia, on September 25th 2007. In December of the same year the album was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Album. Chris Botti was also seen on The Caroline Rhea Show during 2002 to 2003 as the leader of the house band. Botti was also named one of the fifty most beautiful people of 2004 by People Magazine.
