Talented singer and guitarist Bob Weir had undiagnosed dyslexia but this did not prevent him from excelling in the field of music. Born in 1947 and adopted by a well-off family, Weir did not have much luck in school and was in fact expelled from those he attended. Luckily, he was able to mingle with musicians like Jorma Kaukonen-Jefferson Airplane guitarist, David Nelson-founder of the New Riders on the Purple Sage, Robert Hunter and John Perry Barlow who somehow influenced his entry into the music industry. Hunter and Barlow composed the lyrics for the band Grateful Dead. |

Bob Weir met Jerry Garcia in 1963 but they hit it off together instantly that they decided to form a band called Mother McCree’s Uptown Jug Champions which was renamed to Warlocks and then Grateful Dead. When the latter disbanded, Weir played with other bands including the Bob Weir Band, Kingfish and Ratdog, his present band. Weir first became known for his unusual depth in playing rhythm guitar but he later on moved to playing the classic blues slide. His unique guitar playing ability has intrigued his fans and most people in the industry and this led to the release of his debut album “Ace” in 1972. The death of Garcia was a major setback for Weir but he moved on, formed Ratdog and they have had at least 500 shows to date. Aside from singing his own songs, Bob Weir is also fond of singing the songs of Chuck Berry and Bob Dylan and if you want to hear him do his thing then you better get your Bob Weir tickets online now.
